LIVE SPIRITS DVD IN POST PRODUCTION

A dvd of the July 14 gig is almost completed. The film is directed by Kitty Von Lustbaden and Konrad Lenz. It features 5 songs with the entire band and one bonus track of Konrad Lenz and Tom Woodward filmed in October. The film crew consisted of Kitty Von Lustbaden and Chris Botha. Sound was recorded by Tim Duck and the editing was by Mr Lenz.

A reduced 4-piece version of the Spirits of the Dead perform a short set at the Art School Ball.

2 NEW KONRAD LENZ ALBUMS IN PRODUCTION

Two new solo Konrad Lenz albums are in the works. One is an album of 10 songs and the other is an instrumental electronic album titled 'Echoing the Sun.' Some of the material is new and some is old material that has been discovered while sorting through the hours and hours of recordings in the Konrad Lenz vaults.

GOODBYE PENNY FARTHING

*Sept 19 My good friend Penny Farthing has gone to God. She had a stroke in the morning. I got the phone call from my mum soon after it happened. Penny was 18 years old which is ancient in doggie years. She was always a sweetie.

THE NAKED GODDESS

Konrad Lenz is currently working on the music for Joe Woodward's new production The Naked Godess. The play is to be performed in October 2006 at DNA Studios at Gorman House Arts Centre. The music is best described as otherworldly soundscapes made from electronically treated guitar and autoharp. A limited edition soundtrack to The Naked Goddess will be available at performances.

TRIPLE J UNEARTHED

3 Konrad Lenz recordings and 3 Spirits of the Dead recordings are entered into Triple-J's Unearthed competition. Help out by voting for them at the Triple-J website.

*August 26 SCIENCE FICTION SCHMOOZE / SPIRITS OF THE DEAD EP LAUNCH at The Transit Bar featuring The Spirits of the Dead, The Mating Season & Minute Major. The Spirits of the Dead launch their EP 'Razor Jayne' at the newly opened Transit Bar. The Spirits play a surreal gig in darkness to an appreciative audience of hip young replicants.

*August 26 The Mating Season (Tom, Emma & Yen from the Spirits of the Dead) are featured in BMA Magazine.

HENCHMEN REFORM

*August 11 Tom Woodward's band The Henchmen reform and launch their EP 'Streetwalking' at Toast.

TOMMY ON STATELINE

Tom Woodward (from the Spirits of the Dead) is featured on the ABC's current affairs programme, Stateline, in a story detailing his unique CD distribition service.

*August 10 The Spirits of the Dead are featured in BMA Magazine.

*July 16 Despite Konrad Lenz having a stomach bug and vomitting heavily half an hour before the show and immediately after, The Spirits of the Dead perform a transcendently kick-ass set at The Merry Muse with Simone & the Soothsayers.

*July 14 To celebrate the 33rd birthday of Konrad Lenz, The Spirits of the Dead, Moh Van Wah & The Mating Season perform at the ANU Bar to rapturous applause with the incredibly wierd Adam Superman Hadley as Master of Ceremonies. The performances are captured on three HD video cameras and a fine audio recording. Two songs from The Spirits of the Dead performance are to be included on their forthcoming EP.
